Jersey’s next island-wide elections will be on Sunday 7 June 2026. The States Assembly debated and decided the date of the 2026 elections in a meeting held on 1 April 2025.
A proposal from the Privileges and Procedures Committee was approved by the Assembly, with 42 votes for, 1 vote against, and 2 abstentions.
Following the States’ decision, an ‘Appointed Day Act’ will come into force on 8 April 2025.
As previously announced, further law changes are required before the role of Senator can be reinstated.
